Imitation Jade Round Glass Button with Metal Floral Base

This is a DIY material often used in handmade accessories, Hanfu ornaments, or cheongsam (qipao) dress trims. It consists of a glass button and a metal floral base, imitating the warm, soft texture of natural jade.

Main features:

· Material: The button body is made of glass rather than resin, so it has good light transmission, a natural "watery" luster, and a pleasant weight. The surface is coated with an imitation jade texture (e.g., emerald green, pinkish beige, white jade), and sometimes the inside features a crackle effect to mimic natural jade fissures. The floral base is mostly made of copper alloy and can be antique-finished, gold-plated, or silver-plated.
· Structure: The upper part is a round hemispherical glass button; a metal base in the shape of a petal or leaf (the so-called "flower tray") fits tightly underneath. The bottom typically has one or more small holes for threading a needle or cord.
· Size: Diameter ranges from 1.5 cm to 4 cm, with the most common size being 2.5–3 cm.

Primary uses:

· Garment fastener: Used as buttons for traditional Chinese clothing — Hanfu (e.g., for "duijin" lapels or "bijia" vests), cheongsam (qipao), and Tangzhuang jackets. They are combined with knotted cords or vertical button loops.
· Decorative accent: Used to decorate bags, hats, fans, or made into a Chinese "yajin" brooch that hangs at the side of a collar.
· Hair accessories / jewelry: Attach an elastic band or hair clip to the back to make a hair ornament, or glue a pin to make a brooch.
